Alex has quite neat handwriting really but when you see how he holds his pens and pencils its amazing how he achieves this!
Basically he grips the whole pen, like you would a knife rather than the typical 'chopstick' method.

Any experiences of this? Do they grow out of it?

We do encourage him to hold it the 'NT' way, but he's just not comfortable with it.

eek you should see the way i hold MY pen hahahaa.. Im lucky Ashlee holds hers correctly although she writes soooooo slowwww.. she instead prefers to Remember EVERYTHING.. and she does.. At school though they have just started letting her type her work instead, or getting a teacher Aid in to help her type if there is heaps to do, also they let her just type out the KEY facts and skip the other trivial parts..
I dont have AS although i sometimes have to Hmmm at myself, and im afraid to say i still hold my pen wacky.. the techers use to liken it to 'being mangled up in the washing machine' I still write really neat though.. I figure thats whats important.. doesnt stop the looks though hahahaa
