Some interesting observations
My kids always have cereal with no milk and toast or bread with no
butter. However they will drink a glass of milk ok, just never poured
on the cereal.
Also found that Alex likes the little multi cereals from Kelloggs. Alex will have dry toast with just marmite on it!

Arghhh Ashlee is SUCH a fussy eater.. its makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes lol.. She has her cerial but REFUSES to eat it for almost the first half an hour untill its almost MUSH in her milk.. she HATES the crunchy hard textures.. takes about 45 mins to eat about a cup full of cerial with milk ..

That's the thing really, how it feels in the mouth. Alex often analyses his food through touch. He picks everything up with his hands first, we do manage to get him to use his fork but its very much held like a paint brush.
Alex is the opposite to 'mush', going for crunchy things instead - dry weetabix!? lol

lol Isnt that interesting.. Ash has only recently stopped eating with her hands, she has to feel everything also Trying to explain to her that she doesnt want to be 20, with her boyfriend in a flashy restaurant eating with her FINGERS is hard.. Im still not sure that she understands others would not understand her quirks and would frown upon some of her behaviours.. There is no rhyme or reason with food textures with Ash.. some things just SHOULD be crunchy and others soft dontcha know hehehee
The texture thing though flows over to her clothes and how they feel.. the way her hair is styled.. and not for ANYONE will she walk bare foot on grass.. yet she LOVES the feel of sand .. go figure

Yeah, it's amazing, a kind of touch hyper-sensitivity or perhaps being more attuned to how things feel.
I like your analogy on growing up and eating in a flash restaurant - I guess you've always got Kentucky Fried chicken, Pizza Hut and McDonalds if knives and forks are an issue! Not so romantic for a first date or anniversary though!

I really wish i had a video camera running on my family 24/7.. Its such a giggle.. One thing i was told to do last year by Ashlees teacher was to keep a journal of EVERYTHING.. all of Ashys little quirks, funny things that have happened from as far back as i can remember.. At first i thought it was going to be hard, but once you start writting all the memories you think you have forgot all come flooding back ..
HAHAHAAA Just as i was typing that.. Ashlee decided she was going to drag her innerspring bed matress into the lounge room to have a 'camp out' .. instead of just walking the matress out of her bedroom doorway like was done with her sisters.. she decided to FOLD IT IN HALF hahahaaa Im not sure how she managed that but .. SHE DID!! lol .. geez thats totally put me off track
Oh yeah .. long story short.. buy a book and write down EVERYTHING! its so fun to look back over time and read all the funny little stories again, its sometimes sad to revisit the sadder times.. but its a part of what makes the whole journey..

golly gosh

Josh has cereal every day for breakfast, as soon as he gets up. He has the biggest bowl possible (and makes a huge mess in the kitchen!) then will only eat 3/4 of it. He has to leave some in the bottom. He also has to choose his own box of cereal when shopping (or lets us know what he wants if he isn't up to going shopping) and woe betide anyone who tries to have a bowl of it!

Oscar likes Bran Flakes with milk and one teaspoon of sugar or porridge with golden syrup. He doesn't like toast unless it is dry with a cube of butter placed in the middle or has pate on it.

He does like other cereals, Corn Flakes are popular, weetabix with warm milk and, at hsi dad's he as Coco Pops but when his brother asked for us to get them Oscar explained that we couldn't because that is what they have at their dad's not at home. He is very fond of Cinnamon Grahams, or whatever they are called now but he goes a bit potty for anything with cinnamon. He doesn;t like the fact that his brother eats cereal as a snack after school though, because you have breakfast BEFORE school, not after!
